Passive Voice


1.Simple Present Tense
A. Active                   : Budi plays football once a week.
    Passive                  : Football is played by Budi once a week.
B. Active                    : She cooks cake in the kitchen.
    Passive                  : Cake is cooked by she in the kitchen.

2. Present Continous Tense
A. Active                   : I’m watching TV in the living room.
    Passive                  : TV is being watched by me in the living room.
B. Active                    : They are studying English in the classroom.
    Passive                  : English is being studied by Them in the classroom.

3. Present Perfect Tense
A. Active                   : We have sung a song together.
    Passive                  : A song has been sung by us together.
B. Active                    : The Police has catched the thief.
    Passive                  : The Thief has been catched by The Police.

4. Present Perfect Continous Tense
A. Active                   : She has been sweeping the floor since morning.
    Passive                  : The floor has been being swept by her since morning.
B. Active                    : He has been visiting his friend.
    Passive                  : His friend has been being visited by him.

5. Simple Past Tense
A. Active                   : My father celebrated his weeding day on July.
    Passive                  : His weeding day was celebrated by him on July.
B. Active                    : Ani brought her book to the school.
    Passive                  : Her book was brought by Ani to the school.

6. Past Continous Tense
A. Active                   : He was writing lessons all day, yesterday.
    Passive                  : Lessons were being written by him all day, yesterday.
B. Active                   : They were reading comics last week.
     Passive                 : Comics was being read by Them last week.

7. Past Perfect Tense
A. Active                   : He had washed his car.
    Passive                  : His car had been washed by him.
B. Active                    : She had swept the yard.
     Passive                 : The yard had been swept by her.

8. Past Perfect Continous Tense
A. Active                   : When my sister heard the radio, I had been finishing my              homework.
    Passive                  : When my sister heard the radio, My homework had been being  finished by Me.
B. Active                    : When my mother cooked in the kitchen, my brother had been making a cup of tea.
    Passive                  : When my mother cooked in the kitchen, a cup of tea had been being made by him.

9. Simple Future Tense
A. Active                   : They will buy a school bag.
    Passive                  : A school bag will be bought by them.
B. Active                    : I will boil the water in the kitchen.
     Passive                 : The water will be boiled by me in the kitchen.

10. Future Continous Tense
A. Active                   : We will be studying English.
     Passive                 : English will be being studied by us.
B. Active                    : My friend will be giving a flower to someone.
     Passive                 : A flower will be being given by my friend to someone.

11. Future Perfect Tense
A. Active                   : He will have written a novel.
     Passive                 : A novel will have been written by him.
B. Active                    : We will have celebrated birthday party.
     Passive                 : Birthday party will have been celebrated by us.

12. Future Perfect Continous Tense
A. Active                   : We will have been waiting the busway.
     Passive                 : The busway will have been being waited by us.
B. Active                    : My schoolmate will have been finishing homework.
     Passive                 : Homework will have been being finished by my schoolmate.
